2024 marks the final year for the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens at the Hong Kong Stadium (5-7 April 2024).

With the last tournament after 30 years at So Kon Po fast approaching, Hong Kong China Rugby, the organizers of the world’s most famous rugby sevens competition are launching a global campaign across leading social media platforms to invite stakeholders, legends, and, of course, the fans to sound off on their most memorable moments.

"The Greatest Hits Relay is one of the many ways we are marking this milestone tournament with fans in Hong Kong and around the world,” said Robbie McRobbie, Chief Executive of Hong Kong China Rugby.

“We are so fortunate to have 30 years full of magic and mayhem to celebrate, and we knew that we wanted to invite fans from across the decades to share their memorable moments as well, hence the Greatest Hits Relay.

“We hope that fans will enjoy participating, and are very confident that the grand prize winner will enjoy the Ultimate Fan Experience we have in store,” added Mr McRobbie.

The HK7s Greatest Hits Relay pays homage to the iconic and unforgettable moments that have transpired both on and off the pitch over the past 30 years at the tournament.

From nail-biting tries and upsets to euphoric celebrations and unbridled passion from fans, the HK7s has delivered countless highlights. On 5 February, the Hong Kong Sevens will kick start the campaign by sharing a memory across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and Xiaohongshu.

Every day of the campaign will then feature a different memory posted from event stakeholders and Hong Kong Sevens legends like David Campese to Waisale Serevi and DJ Forbes.

From 5 February to 5 March, fans who follow the campaign can share their favourite HK7s moment with the world by tagging @hksevens and using #HK7sGreatestHits and #HK7s for a chance to win a literal once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Sevens this April.

Ultimate Fan Experience Grand Prize

The fan whom the judges felt shared the most iconic memory with a great Sevens story behind it will win the Utimate Fan Experience prize, that includes a chance for the winner and a mate to watch the Sevens and rub shoulders with some rugby legends inside the Captain’s Corner at Hong Kong Stadium.

The grand prize also includes a $10,000 Cathay Pacific travel voucher, rooms at Ovolo Southside Hotel, a Tomahawk dinner at Feather and Bone and a Sevens gift pack with merchandise, an official SVNS ball and, of course, a couple of Beers!

And of course fans are invited to make even more incredible memories in Hong Kong from 5-7 April at the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.
