50 DAYS TO 50 YEARS! CATHAY/HSBC HONG KONG SEVENS RINGS IN 50 YEARS WITH ONE OF BIGGEST ENTERTAINMENT OFFERINGS EVER

26 February 2026

With 50 days to go, Fans are invited to share memories for a chance to win a Golden Ticket

The Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is as much about the thrilling action on the pitch between the world’s best sevens teams as the superb entertainment off it. To mark the event’s 50th anniversary year in 2026, fans can look forward to one of the most spectacular entertainment offerings yet.

Fans can look forward to the first ever K-pop party at the Hong Kong Sevens in 2026, with four-member girl group Primrose and Korea based Filipino singer-songwriter Gwyn Dorado performing on stage inside the Stadium on Friday evening, 17 April.

Evoking memories of an effervescent performance at the old stadium from fellow Korean clubbing icon, DJ Soda, DJ Hanna entertains fans on Saturday with high-energy sets blending K-pop, K-hip-hop, and house music.

And get those vocal chords limbered up for a good old fashioned Sevens singalong on Sunday as acclaimed cover band Hindley Street Country Club kick it at Kai Tak on Sunday with a Songs of the Sevens set to help mark a half century of the world’s best rugby revelry.

A group of accomplished Australian musicians, Hindley Street Country Club’s winning covers on social media have drawn over 590 million YouTube views, garnered them an audience of over 1,000,000 million subscribers globally, and amassed an incredible 5 billion views across all social media platforms.

Event organisers Hong Kong China Rugby previously announced that Europe’s #1 party act, The Vengaboys, will bring their electric and eclectic performance to the perfect stage at the Cathay/HSBC Sevens with an appearance on Saturday afternoon during the March past in the stadium.

In between matches or for a post-Sevens drink, the 10,700 sq. M. Fan Village is the place to gather in between matches or for a post-Sevens drink. Like the pitch inside the Stadium, the entertainment stage at the Fan Village is always buzzing with over 20 DJs, bands and dance troupes performing across the weekend.

The Village is also home to a plethora of fun activations and experience zones from event partners like Cathay, HSBC, and Hong Kong Jockey Club, the premium and relaxing open-air Village will feature warm up areas for the participating teams for the first time, allowing visitors to watch their favourite players (including those of the Hong Kong, China team!) in final preparations before they compete inside the stadium.

And as usual you can expect to bump (large!) shoulders with some rugby world legends at the Cathay / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens. Sevens stars Waisale Serevi, DJ Forbes, and Tyla King return as Official Ambassadors at the 50th Anniversary Hong Kong Sevens and will visit the Village across the weekend to meet and greet fans alongside mascot Wei Bai.

Kids’ favourite activities like bouncy castles and face painting will ensure smiley faces all weekend long, while Castore’s main merchandise booth, which will be selling limited edition 50th Anniversary Hong Kong Sevens jerseys this year, can also be found in the Fan Village.

Rugby clinics and mini games will also be showcased in the Fan Village to allow those curious about the sport or parents looking to get their kids involved to experience first-hand the appeal and basic skills of rugby.

Three garden lounges and the signature bar of the tournament’s official beer Carlsberg are all on offer inside the Village, on top of over 30 concession stands including Coke, Moet, and Aperol that will operate inside the stadium over Sevens weekend.

The Fan Village will be open to ticket holders from the start of play to 10:30pm each day from 17-19 April. Visitors can also enjoy all the live Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens 2026 action via the big screen inside the Village with beanbag seating to further enhance the experience.

As the world’s biggest rugby party celebrates its special milestone this year, fans are invited to engage with the Hong Kong Sevens Forever campaign. Fans have been invited to submit their favourite memories of the Hong Kong Sevens to stand a chance to win one of the anniversary event’s seven Golden Tickets, which offer the ultimate money-can’t-buy experiences including the HSBC Hot Seat and a Behind-the-Scenes Tour.

The Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is proud of being an “M” Mark event that helps enhance the image of Hong Kong as Asia’s sports event capital. The “M” Mark awarded by the Major Sports Events Committee, symbolising intense, spectacular and signature event in the territory sports calendar.

With 50 days out from kick-off, over 100,000 tickets have already been sold for what promises to be an unforgettable extravaganza.
