Christmas is coming and Hong Kong China Rugby is once again preparing the perfect gift for rugby fans and revelers from around the world with the 50th Anniversary Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens at Kai Tak Stadium next April (17-19 April 2026).
Renowned as the world’s premier rugby party, the three-day long festival of top-class sport, non-stop entertainment, and food, fun and fancy dress will once again delight international visitors and locals.
From humble beginnings as a one-day event in 1976 – played in front of an (even then) sellout crowd of 3,000 at the Hong Kong Football Club, the Sevens has grown into a three-day extravaganza, widely regarded as Asia’s top sporting weekend and one of world sport’s true bucket-list events.
Over five decades, the Hong Kong Sevens has developed an inimitable reputation as a showcase for rugby legends like Jonah Lomu, and a soundstage for some of the world’s biggest music acts from The Beach Boys, Madness, Kaiser Chiefs, The Wailers and more.
Last year’s debut at Kai Tak featured non-stop music with in-stadium headliners and over 20 bands and dance troupes entertaining crowds throughout the weekend in the Fan Village.
Today, Hong Kong China Rugby are excited to announce the first of its in-stadium performances with an extremely appropriate group lined up to compliment the world-class rugby on offer.
Known for party anthems like ‘We like to Party’, “We’re going to Ibiza” and “Boom Boom Boom Boom!”, the Vengaboys are bringing their electric and eclectic performance to the perfect stage at the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens with an appearance on Saturday afternoon.
More acts will be announced after the holidays, but this year’s Hong Kong Sevens is already shaping up to be the perfect gift for the sports and entertainment fan in your life. The advent of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens’ Kai Tak era has enabled a transformative fan experience with new ticketing, hospitality and entertainment areas inside and outside of the stadium.

In 2026, a variety of ticket categories and types are offered including the traditional full event three-day pass that delivers one of the world’s greatest sporting values.
Prices for three-day General Admission Hong Kong Sevens 2026 tickets are HK $2,250 for adults. Three-day General Admission child tickets are available for HK $1,100 (aged 12 and under).
Single-day ticket purchases are also available via Hong Kong-based travel agency Klook. Subject to availability, single-day tickets will be available starting from HK $550 for adults, and from HK $300 for children. Captain’s Lounge tickets (HK $18,250) offer premier hospitality with three-day access to a 5-star business class lounge with free-flow drinks, gourmet buffet dining, butler service, reserved seating in-stadium, and meet and greet opportunities with a variety of Hong Kong Sevens legends and official ambassadors. Over 110,000 fans attended the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens in 2025. Tickets are on sale now, and the event has already sold well over 50% of its capacity four months from kick-off. Strong demand has been seen internationally with 30% of tickets sold to date coming from overseas buyers. Popular upgrades like the South Stand FastPass and Carlsberg Clubhouse (Saturday) are already sold out.
The Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is one of three World Championship events on the HSBC SVNS Series and will feature 24 teams. The Melrose Claymores competition will also return, bringing the total of international teams participating in Hong Kong to 30, including the hometown favourites, the men’s and women’s Hong Kong China Rugby sevens squads.
Corporate hospitality offerings are typically oversubscribed year on year. Enquiries for 2026 tournament availability and waiting lists can be directed to [email protected].
