MYTHBUSTING THE HK7s

Think you know the HK7s? Put your knowledge to the test. We're here to debunk the biggest myths surrounding this iconic event, so you can separate fact from fiction.
Myth: There’s no South Stand anymore
Busted: It wouldn’t be the HK7s without a South Stand! The South Stand at Kai Tak Sports Park is similar in size to the old South Stand, with a dedicated entrance via Gate B. Entry to the South Stand is on a first come, first serve basis, and is R18+. BYO costumes!
Myth: The South Stand is sold out
Busted: Don't worry, the South Stand isn't sold out... yet! A GA ticket will get you entry to the South Stand, and there are still limited GA tickets available. However, South Stand SuperPass upgrades are sold out. If you’re one of the lucky fans who managed to snag one, remember—you still need a GA ticket for stadium entry!
Myth: The Stadium is ages away from a good after party
Busted: The party doesn’t stop in the Fan village until 10:30 PM on Friday/Saturday, and until 7:00 PM on Sunday. If you’re still keen to kick on after that, it’s just a short ferry, taxi or MTR ride to LKF for the official after-hours party.
Myth: You can bring your own food and drink into the stadium
Busted: You cannot bring your own food and drink to Kai Tak Sports Park. A small amount of baby food or food for legitimate medical reasons will be considered, but this is at the discretion of KTSP security staff. Please note, water bottles are also not allowed to be brought in, even if they are empty.
Myth: You can’t drink alcohol in the upper tier
Busted: Play on! Outside of a small designated family zone, you can enjoy a drink (or two) in the upper tier of Kai Tak Stadium—just remember to stay hydrated!
Myth: It costs extra to get into the fan village
Busted: It’s all yours! Ticket holders for the 2025 Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens can enjoy free access to all the cool stuff going on in our fan village.
Myth: It’s really hard to get merchandise
Busted: We will have an incredible merchandise store in the fan village and near Gate F of Kai Tak Stadium. Stock is limited so be quick to secure that jersey, bucket hat, or Hawaiian shirt of your choice.
Myth: I’ve heard the roof will be closed the whole time
Busted: Pending any major weather interruptions, the roof will be closed on Friday, but open on Saturday and Sunday so you can soak up the sun and see the full extent of the new stadium’s capabilities.
Myth: It’s ages away from the MTR station
Busted: You're just a short stroll away from the action! It’s a quick and easy 10 minute walk to Sung Wong Toi or Kai Tak MTR stations.
