OUR TEAMS
The Hong Kong China Representative 7s is a full-time programme for men and women led by Paul John. The programme is supported by the Hong Kong Sports Institute and based at Fo Tan.
Our 7s teams travel around the world to compete in a variety of competitions each year. This includes the Asian Sevens Series, World Rugby's HSBC SVNS Series, the National Games of the People's Republic of China, the Asian Games, Olympic Qualification and the Melrose Claymores competition at the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

WOMEN’S 7s
Hong Kong China Women's 7s are the current Asian Games bronze medallists, 2025 Melrose Claymores champions, and part of the Asia Rugby Sevens Series. The team is coached by Andy Vilk.

MEN’S 7s
Hong Kong China Men's 7s are the current Asian Games champions, winners of the 2025 Melrose Claymores, and part of the Asia Rugby Sevens Series. The team is coached by Jevon Groves.

Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR), established in 1952, is the governing body for rugby in Hong Kong and a full member of World Rugby and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong China.
Our 7s High Performance Department is led by Head Coach Paul John, boasting senior and junior programmes that are fully supported by the Hong Kong Sports Institute, based at Fo Tan, and providing first-class training facilities and resources to each squad.
