Joining the greatest teams in the world, our Hong Kong heroes will be out to prove themselves and represent our home on the world stage in front of family, friends, 40,000 roaring spectators and millions of online rugby fans.
Led by Paul John, the Hong Kong Sports Institute Elite Rugby Sevens programme supports a full-time men’s and women’s squad. Our athletes train and compete at the highest levels in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
Both 7s squads have achieved standout performances in recent years. In 2021, the women’s squad made the final of the Olympic repechage in Monaco. In 2022, the men’s squad secured a gold medal and Rugby World Cup Sevens qualification at the Asia Rugby Sevens Series.
