Strap in for a thrilling day of rugby action at the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens – the women’s semi-finals and men’s quarter finals are set for kick off this morning.

Competition is fierce in the women’s camp after two emotional last-gasp victories from Fiji and Great Britain on Saturday, with brilliant moments from Reapi Ulunisau and Rhona Lloyd securing the coveted spots for their respective teams. Although New Zealand's women are the hot favourites, they’ll be taking on Fiji, who have shown that they should never be underestimated and continue to own the crowd hearts here in Hong Kong. Great Britain are up against a strong-looking Australian side, so expect a battle of wills and skills when they kick off at 14:43 HKT.

On the men’s side, there was heartbreak for Australia as they were knocked out of their gold medal defence by USA, and can now finish no better than 9th here in Hong Kong. Speaking of Hong Kong, our brave sides had a decent showing on Saturday, with a few fantastic tries for the fans coming in from Max Denmark, Seb Brien, Chloe Chan, Julia Mibuy and Ka Man Nam – moments to remember! The HKG women’s are now finished up for the weekend, while the men are taking on Australia in the 9th place playoff later today.

The men’s quarter final match-ups make it anyone’s game – New Zealand v Argentina, South Africa versus Fiji, Spain v France and USA v Great Britain. Who's your pick to take it all?

Join us for another great day of live entertainment, songs in the South Stand, and the all-important cup lift later on.

See you at the Sevens!
