BACK TO NEWS

The Hong Kong Rugby Union would like to express its sincere gratitude to the commercial and governmental sponsors, partners and patrons behind the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

Now in its 44th year, the Hong Kong Sevens would not be possible without the support of a variety of commercial and governmental partners and supporters.

Most notably of course are the long-time co-title sponsors, two iconic Hong Kong brands behind Hong Kong’s most iconic event, Cathay Pacific and HSBC. Both have been long-term supporters of the Hong Kong Sevens and rugby worldwide throughout much of the past four decades.

Other sponsors supporting the event in 2019 are Carlsberg, the Official Beer of the Hong Kong Sevens, whose support has helped make the latest Green 7s initiative, reusable pints – possible, and Cigna, whose focus on health and wellness in their campaign is helping Hong Kongers tackle life’s daily challenges in a positive way.

The HRKU would also like to recognise Marriot Bonvoy, the sponsor of Friday night’s concert with Gwen Stefani at the Central Harboufront. The event space will then transform into the Sevens Central fanzone which will be open throughout the event weekend (6-7 April) for free to the public to help share the fun and excitement of the Sevens with the entire community.  Other sponsors include Hong Kong-originated athletic and team wear brand, Kukri, and Modern Terminals.

The support of the Series’ global partners, including CapGemini, DHL, UL, Tag Heuer and Gilbert, continues to bring the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and the Hong Kong Sevens to new heights.

The HKRU would also like to recognise the support received from the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens event partners, including Coca-Cola – also a key partner in our Green 7s reusable pint scheme; Fullshare – the education partner of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, host broadcaster iCable, HKT, Mason Group, Sacred Hill, SAP and Viagogo.

And a special thanks to Lee Gardens, host of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Official Draw and the Sevens Fanwalk offering food, music and fun to all the fans in Causeway Bay over the tournament weekend.

The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is also proud of being an “M” Mark event that helps enhance the image of Hong Kong as Asia’s sports event capital. The “M” Mark is awarded by the Major Sports Events Committee, symbolising an intense, spectacular and signature event in the territory’s sports calendar.

In addition to the M-Mark status, the Cathy Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens receive significant support from the Major Sports Event committee and Brand Hong Kong, as well the Home Affairs Bureau and Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Environmental Protection Department.

The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is proud to be once again working with Laureus and the Laureus Spots for Good programme, the official charity of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens will be played from 5-7 April 2019 at the sold-out, 40,000-seat Hong Kong Stadium. For more information please visit the official website at hksevens.com.
